"We need to shift back and head to your house, I need to have a talk with your parents." He said in my mind some minutes later.
"Ok, how do I change back?"
"Think of your human form." I did as he told me and concentrated on my human self. Next thing I know I felt a breeze on my body. I looked down at myself, I was butt naked. I squeaked using my hands to cover my lady parts. Blake stared at me with an amused expression on his face, and a hint of lust.
"Where are my clothes?" I asked. I knew my cheeks were pink.
"They ripped when you shifted." He covered his mouth trying not to laugh, and failing. This was no laughing matter, I’m in the middle of the woods naked with a guy I’m attracted to.
"What am I supposed to wear?" I just realized that he was naked too. I couldn't help myself, I looked him over from head to toe. He wasn't even trying to cover himself.
"Here." He tossed me a shirt. Where did he get this from? I quickly slipped it on, it stopped mid-thigh. Somehow, he got ahold of some shorts. I was glad and disappointed at the same time that he finally covered himself up.
"Thanks." We started walking back through the woods towards the car.
"Are there other werewolves here?" I asked my question from earlier.
"Yes, my pack." Blake answered not looking back. He's still angry about no one telling me I was a werewolf.
"Is Derek and Lizzy?"
"Yes, most of the school is."
"Oh." We finished the rest of the walk in silence. At some point during our walk Blake reached back and grabbed my hand. I enjoyed the contact, it was calming. When we finally got back to the car Blake let my hand go and went to fix it. I decided to just sit in the car and wait. When he was done he slid in the passenger seat. I sighed before starting the car and making my way home. About half way through the drive I remembered something. "Oh man!" I screamed
"What?" Blake asked looking alarmed.
"I think my ice cream melted." I whined. Blake stared at me for a while then burst out laughing. Guess I won’t be stuffing my face.

When we arrived at my house Blake jumped out of the car before I could even come to a complete stop. I quickly turned the car off and rushed after him to unlock the door, before he broke it with his knocking. When we walked in my mom and Ben were in the living room. It didn’t seem like they were even going to attempt to open the door.
"Who's this?" Ben asked.
"This is-" I started to say but Blake cut me off.
"Why didn't she know she was a werewolf?" He demanded. Wow wonderful way to start the conversation.
"What?" Mom asked looking nervous.
"What he's trying -" I started again only to get cut off, again.
"She shifted today, and she didn't even know what was going on." Blake was beyond angry now.
"When? Where? Oh, my poor baby." Mom said running over to me. She wrapped me in a hug and I cringed. Well I guess they do know what he's talking about, interesting. We all heard footsteps coming down the stairs. We looked up to see Jessica and Jake. I was hoping to make it back before him. Now he knows I took his car out without permission
"What's going on?" He asked looking between me, Blake, and our mom.
"Did you know about werewolves?" I asked him before Blake could cut me off.
"Yes." He could no longer make eye contact with me. I felt hurt by his words. So he knew and didn't tell me?
"Does this whole family know?!!" Blake shouted.
"Wait just a minute who are you?" Ben asked trying to be the man of the house, but even he looked scared. Blake was very intimidating for a high school kid.
"I'm alpha of the pack here." Blake answered. He still looked angry, so I broke away from my mom, laying a hand on his arm, he relaxed a little.
"Really?" Jessica asked, sounding way too happy considering the situation we were in right now. Is there no off button for her thirstiness?
"Well we didn't know she was going to shift so soon, or at all. It’s taken her much longer than most werewolves her age." Mom answered finally.
"You still didn't tell her about werewolves though." Blake started shaking and pulled me into his arms. No one in the room missed that, so now they were staring. Well this isn't awkward at all. On the bright side though he smelled nice.
"Well no, we thought it would be better she didn't know. My sister is very emotional and sensitive, who knows how she would’ve responded." Jake said smirking at me. I glared at him, jerk.
"I am not!" I screamed at him. His smirked widened, even Blake cracked a smile. Traitor.
"We're sorry this happened." Mom told me sadly. I tried to go to her, but Blake wouldn't loosen his grip.
"It's Ok mom, but you should've told me." I told her.
"I know." She stepped back next to Ben who wrapped his arms around her. They were so good together, I’m glad she found someone to make her happy.
"All of you need to come to the pack meeting tomorrow night." Blake ordered with his arms still around me.
"Blake you can let me go now." I told him blushing. He cleared his throat and released me.
"Alright we'll be there." Mom told him.
"Good I'll see you all tomorrow." Blake started walking towards the door and I followed him.
"Thanks for helping me today." I told him once we made it outside, staring at my feet.
"No problem new girl, I'll see you tomorrow yeah?" I nodded and walked backed in the house. I didn't feel the need to talk to anyone, so I just went to my room. I was laying on my bed scrolling through Facebook when I heard my bedroom door open.
“Ashley? Are you still mad at us?” I sat up, my mom was nervously standing in my doorway.
“No mom I’m fine.” She looked relieved as she came over and sat next to me.
“I’m sorry we didn’t tell you baby, we can talk about it now if you’d like.” I could tell she was trying hard to patch things up between us. My mom and I were as close as Jake and me. She is the only constant female in my life.
“What else is there to know?”
“Well there’s mates, alphas, all the ranks in packs.” This werewolf thing seems more complicated than I thought. I just hope there’s not a lot of rules.
“What’s a mate?”
“A mate is a werewolf’s other half, someone they’re destined to be with for the rest of their life. Like a soulmate.” The rest of their life? That’s a huge commitment.
“Have you found your mate? Was dad your mate?” Maybe that’s why she’s always moving us around.
She smiled sadly at me. “As much as I loved your father, he wasn’t my mate, Ben is.” That explains how she moved on to him. When my father died she would never go on dates, no matter how much I begged her. Then Ben came along and next thing I know she’s married.
“Do you think I have one?” I don’t think I want a mate. I’m not ready to be tied to someone, maybe when I’m forty.
“You’ll just have to wait and find out,” She got up from my bed and made her way to the door. “Goodnight honey, I’m always here if you need to talk about anything.”
“Night mom.” I stretched out on my bed once she left, back to Facebook I go. Later that night I laid in bed getting ready to sleep when there was a knock on my door.
"Come in!" I yelled. Jessica walked in with a scowl on her face. Oh great. "What do you want?" I can tell this was going to get ugly.
"Why were you with Blake?" She asked. Why does she care? Wasn’t she trying to get Derek’s attention earlier? I'm guessing Zoey told her to watch me.
"I wasn't." I told her in a "duh" tone.
She sneered at me. "Then how did he know you were shifting?" She asked, harshly I might add.
“He was around when my car broke down, and if you want to know anything else ask someone who cares because I don't have time for you." I said, getting sick of her already. I’ll admit I get a little grumpy when I’m trying to sleep and someone interrupts.
"Why don't you just stay aw
ay from him? He doesn't want you." She rolled her eyes putting her hands on her hips.
"Just get out of my room." I said, turning my light off to go to sleep. Eventually the door closed. Now I can finally be alone with my thoughts. I'm still freaking out over being a werewolf, I only temporarily forgot it with the other things going on. My whole life I thought they were myths and I've been living with three without knowing. I wonder if they would have told me if I didn't shift. What hurt the most was that Jake didn't tell me and we tell each other everything. I also remembered Blake calling me baby girl earlier. Weird. I finally drifted off to sleep around 12.00 pm.
When I woke up the next morning everything that happened yesterday felt like a dream. I mean werewolves! I wonder what's in store for me to learn today.
I grabbed an all-black tank top, white t-shirt and black skinny jeans. After taking a shower I went downstairs for breakfast. Things were awkward between Jake and I after last night, I was still a little hurt from him not telling me. We didn't talk like we usually did, only to ask for the milk. I was glad when it was time to go.
We arrived at school early and I went looking for Derek and Lizzy.
"Hey Ashely!" I turned around to see them both sitting at a table with a group of kids. I walked over slowly, not knowing if they knew about what happened yesterday.
"These are our friends Caleb, Kelly, and Sarah." Lizzy introduced me to the other kids at the table. I got nods from the boys and a small "Hi" from Kelly.
"Hey." I replied.
"So, we heard about what happened. I can't wait till you're part of the pack! You might even find your mate there." She exclaimed with excitement.
"Doesn't the alpha have to decide that?" I asked laughing at her giddiness, it was contagious.
"Well yeah, but Blake's already fond of you so of course you're in. But I don't know about Jessica." She frowned.
"You talk a lot Liz, I'm sure Ashley gets the point now." The boy named Caleb said, Lizzy blushed. Aww does someone have a crush? I’ll have to ask her about that.
"Derek are you going to take me to class today?" I asked him since he was so quiet.
"Yeah, we should leave now the bells about to ring." He told me looking around as kids started packing their stuff up. I nodded and waved bye to Lizzy and her friends.
"Are you happy about being a werewolf?" Derek asked as we were walking down the halls.
"I guess I just never really thought about it, not too long ago I thought werewolves weren't real." I told him while shrugging.
"Do you want to go for a run sometime? So I can see how your wolf looks?" He asked when we stopped at my locker.
"I don't mind." I told him smiling. He nodded and walked off to his locker.
"Hey are feeling Ok?" I turned to the side hearing Blake's voice. He was leaning against the locker next to mine looking hot as heck wearing all black. How long was he standing there?
"Um, yeah." I mumbled sticking my head in my locker. All I could think about now was him calling me baby girl. I heard him chuckle on the other side.
"I'm going to give you a ride to my house after school for the meeting." He told me, I pulled my head out the locker to see him staring.
Just then Zoey came around the corner, when she saw Blake her eyes lit up, until they landed on me. She picked up her pace walking over to us.
"Hey Blakey." She said throwing her arms around him, planting a sloppy kiss on his mouth. Gross.
"What are you doing!?" Blake angrily pushed her off of him. Awkward.
"What?" Zoey asked.
"We broke up last night, which means don't put your mouth on me." He turned away from her, walking in the other direction. He really was going to leave me alone with her?
"Whatever Blake, you've been acting weird ever since that slut got here." She called after him tossing her hair, sparing a scowl in my direction.
"Who are you calling a slut?" I asked her.
"You need to stay away from my man." She threatened, getting in my face. By now a small crowd of people had formed. Kids that were heading to their lockers but stopped for a morning show. Why did high school kids love drama?
"He doesn't want you anymore take a hint." I said taking a step closer. I don’t care if she thinks she owns this school or not. I won’t allow the disrespect.
"Don't you have a daddy to get home to?" She asked smirking. My dad is a sensitive subject for me, which is why I did what I did next. I pulled back my fist and punched her in the face. She dropped to the floor with a squeal as blood started gushing out of her nose.
"Don't ever talk about my dad again!" I screamed down at her. Tears started coming out of my eyes. I felt someone's arms go around me, pulling me into the nearest class room. I didn't try fighting cause the tingles gave away who it was. He sat me on a desk and wrapped his arms around me while I cried. I missed my dad a lot. My mom may have been able to move on but I can’t. Ben was nice but he was not my father.
After some time, I finally settled down. "I'm sorry for getting tears on your shirt." I apologized to Blake once I pulled away.
"It's fine Ashley. Are you Ok?" He asked, concern in his voice.
"Yeah." I said. wiping my eyes.
"Ignore Zoey she can be a real witch when she wants to." He said frowning at something.
"Then why were you dating her?" I blurted out. Although I was curious about his answer. He claims they broke up last night but why bother getting with her in the first place?
He sighed. "It's complicated Ashley, you'll find out why soon."
I nodded not really understanding his answer. Then I became aware that we're in a classroom alone with the door locked. Not to mention he was still standing between my legs. I blushed from the thoughts that popped in my head. Bad girl!
"Um, you can move back now." I told him still blushing. He smirked and leaned closer.
He leaned down to whisper in my ear. “What’s the rush?’ His breath was cool and smelled minty fresh.
"Um, they're probably looking for us." Was my lame answer. I tried to recover my tracks but as soon as I opened my mouth he kissed me. My mouth exploded with fireworks. I mean I've kissed boys before, but this was just WOW. He moved his mouth in sync with mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck as our kiss deepened. He tangled his fingers in my hair as he pulled me closer to him so there was no space between our bodies. I was about to wrap my legs around his waist when there was a knock on the door. I jumped back, but Blake just started kissing down my neck.
"Blake? Ashley? Are you guys in there?" I heard Lizzy's voice on the other side of the door.
"Blake." I pushed him gently away from me, when he looked up his eyes were black.
I grabbed his hand. "Calm down, so we can go out there." I knew he was like this because of our kiss. He nodded and put his face in the crook of my neck, breathing in. Awkward. I waited until he was done.
"Come on." I started walking to the door when he grabbed my arm stopping me.
"Fix your hair, it looks like you just had sex.” He told me smirking. I quickly flattened my hair down, a blush spreading across my cheeks.
When we walked out of the class the halls were clear except for Derek and Lizzy. When they saw us they came our way, Lizzy pulled me into a hug.
"Are you Ok?" She asked panicky.
"I'm fine." I told her smiling.
"Good, you throw one hell of a punch!" She said smirking at me.
"Dang straight she does." Derek said pounding Blake's fist. How did they even know about the punch? Word travels fast around here.
"We need to get to class." I told them, trying to draw the attention away from me.
"No way! We're skipping." Lizzy said. Blake frowned at her.
"No she's not Lizzy." What was he my father now?
"Why not?" Now Lizzy was frowning.
"Just because of that accident doesn't mean she can skip school." Derek cut in.
"Actually, I'm kind of tired and not in the mood for school anymore." I told them sheepis
hly. Blake frowned at me now.
"Fine, but you're sleeping at my house." Blake told me. Wow bossy much.
"Don't you mean our house?" I asked, wondering why he just referred to it as his. Didn’t they live together?
"Actually, I have my own place since I have issues with most wolves being alpha and all." He said smirking at me. Oh no! This means I’ll be alone with him after we just made out.
